Woodlands Vegetarian Restaurant

~Time out from the usual Malaysian meal~

I know I know
We've been carnivores...
But we're making up for it!
Vegs have an option too~

Align Center This place has a rather fancy interior
Once we stepped in, it felt like we're in a whole new world.
The decor is rather authentic India.

The place is dimly lit with music softly playing in the background.
There are mirrors all over (in case you wanna check on your teeth) *jk*
Mirrors gives a spacious effect to the place.
Albeit the air-conditioning and teak-wood-looking decor,
its cosy in here. *hearts*

Unfortunately,
its again an in pronto decision
and I ate a heavy meal before coming here.
So fried rice it is.
Verdict : Yums!!! Didn't know vegetarian fried rice can taste so good.
Its not exactly the most filling of dishes.
To me, the serving proportion is just Perfect!
Local food tend to come in proportions too large for me...*sobs*

Behold, the infamous Woodlands Special Thali!
*photo courtesy of One Stop Malaysia*

Its a vegetarian restaurant, so all the 1234...
9 dishes
are vegetarian.
I had the same order several times by now,
and they do change some of the dishes according to availability of ingredients.

Warning: This meal is super filling.
Why? Because you can fill up the rice till your hearts content.
Mind you, its NOT at all small in portion.
Comes with Sweet, Chappathi, Dhall, Rice, Sambar, Rasam, 3 Vege, Spicy Spl Kulambu, Curd, Chilly Papard
Verdict : Yums!! How could you come here to Woodlands
and not try their Special Thali?

When you're about to foot your bill,
there would be little plates containing these.
These are rock sugars.
An Indian friend of mine who recommended this place to me
told me that they are used as breath fresheners after meals.
Owh i see...^^

Oh yea...Did I mention they have a little stall selling traditional Indian sweets?
Its right outside the restaurant.
You won't miss it.
Their varieties are great, and its fresh. ^^

This place is a must-try! You don't find many authentic Indian food around in Penang, honestly. Not as authentic as this one, and its vegetarian! Quite a healthy choice. They offer a variety of food, including Pulaos and tosai.
The mushroom pulao is pretty tasty, and all the food here is so affordable!

However, there is a time for each menu, so make sure you go during the right time of the day to get what you want to order.

Venue: (quoted from One Stop Malaysia)
60 Lebuh Penang (Penang Street). Not to be confused with the famous Penang Road. Located in the vicinity of Little India. A stone's throw from Sri Ananda Bahwan.

ENJOY!!
